Custom Printed Taco Wrap Paper
Grease-resistant sheets folded into an open-top sleeve that holds two or three tacos, keeps salsa off hands and leaves the toppings in view. Print scattered marks or one centered logo on white, kraft or black.
What Are Taco Wrap Paper?
Taco wrap paper is a grease-resistant sheet, usually white, folded in half around one to three tacos so they stay upright with the toppings showing. It is the half-open sleeve a taqueria hands over the counter. We print it on the outside face with scattered marks, a repeat or a single logo.

Taco Wrap Paper for Street Tacos and Soft Shells
Taco wrap paper is a grease-resistant sheet folded into a half-open sleeve around one, two or three tacos. The fold holds the tacos upright and together, keeps salsa off fingers and leaves the toppings on show. It is the sheet in the photos, white with small printed marks or a single logo.
Taquerias, street-taco carts, Tex-Mex fast-casual lines, brewery taco nights and catering trucks all fold it. It doubles as the wrap for a quesadilla half or a pair of flautas, and a flat sheet under a taco trio on a tray keeps the tray clean.
Why a Half-Fold Sleeve Instead of a Full Roll?
A taco is open at the top by design, so the wrap should be too. Fold the sheet in half, set the tacos in the crease and pinch the open ends, and you have a sleeve that holds the tacos but shows the toppings. A full roll, as you would do with the sheets that roll a full burrito, crushes the shells and hides the food.
The sleeve also vents steam. Soft tortillas sweat when wrapped tight, and a half-open fold keeps them pliable without turning them wet. For a to-go order the sleeve goes into a bag or a box standing up, with the open side facing up.
How Many Tacos Fit on a 12 x 12 Sheet?
Count tacos, then pick the sheet. A street taco on a 4-inch tortilla and a soft taco on a 6-inch tortilla need very different sleeves.
| Sheet size | Tacos per sleeve | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 10 x 10 | One soft taco or two street tacos | Single-serve window, samples, kids tacos |
| 12 x 12 | Two soft tacos or three street tacos | The standard taco plate, folded once |
| 12 x 15 | Three soft tacos, or two with heavy toppings | Taco Tuesday trios, birria with consomme on the side |
| Custom | Oversized tortillas, quesadilla halves | Quoted to the tortilla you buy |
If your most-ordered item is a plate of three street tacos, buy 12 x 12 and fold it the long way. Buy 12 x 15 only if your tortillas are 6 inches or more.
Scattered Marks, Stamps and a Centered Logo
The first two photos show a scattered-mark print: small badges in green, orange and red placed loosely across a white sheet. It behaves like a repeat, so part of the design always shows on the folded sleeve, but it looks hand-placed rather than gridded. We print it as 2 or 3 spot colors or as full color on white.
The third photo shows the opposite approach: one two-color logo set in the middle of the sheet, folded so the logo lands on the front of the sleeve. That works for tacos because the half-fold is predictable; the cook folds the same way every time and the logo lands in the same place. It does not work for a sheet that is rolled or crumpled. See placing a logo on a folded sheet for the layout rules.
Either way the ink is on the outside face only, in food-safe soy and water-based inks. Keep the small marks simple; a badge with hairline script inside it will soften on absorbent stock and the proof will thicken it.
Grease-Resistant White for Taco Toppings
Taco toppings are the test: crema, salsa verde, pickled onion juice, birria fat. Grease-resistant white holds all of it for the time it takes to eat and keeps the printed marks from blurring. It is bright enough for the greens and reds that taco brands tend to use.
Kraft grease-resistant is a good second choice for a smokehouse-style taco or a brisket taco truck, where a brown sheet fits the menu. Dry wax is too soft for salsa and is better kept for dry items like chips. Black stock with white ink makes a striking sleeve for a late-night taco window, but it shows oil as a sheen, so keep it for short holds.
A quick way to choose: look at your salsa bar. Red and green salsas, crema and a bright pico want a white sheet that shows the color. A brown mole, barbacoa or a dry-rub carnitas taco looks right on kraft, and the odd drip disappears into the sheet.
Taco Tuesday Volume and Pre-Folded Sleeves
On a busy night a line can fold a sleeve per plate without slowing down, but a stack of pre-folded sleeves is faster. Fold the sheet in half during prep, printed face out, and nest the sleeves in a bin at the pass. Grease-resistant stock keeps the crease, so the sleeve opens flat when the plate is called.
Sheets ship flat in cartons. Work out your usage per taco night, multiply by nights per month and order so the next run is printed before the last carton opens. A reorder uses the approved proof and goes straight to print, which keeps the two-week window predictable.
Can Taco Wrap Paper Hold a Crunchy Shell Without Breaking It?
Yes, as long as the sleeve is folded, not rolled. Set the hard shells in the crease and bring the sides up gently; the paper supports the shell from below and the open top keeps pressure off the rim. Two crunchy tacos sit well in a 12 x 12 fold.
For hard shells going into a bag, stand the sleeve upright in a box so nothing presses on it. Crunchy shells shed less grease than soft tacos, so a plain bleached white sheet is fine here if you are not printing in color.
Taco Paper Errors to Avoid
These are the taco paper mistakes we see most often.
- Rolling the sheet like a burrito and flattening the tacos.
- Buying 10 x 10 for a three-taco plate; the sleeve cannot close around the third taco.
- Choosing dry wax, then finding salsa on the tray and the bag.
- Fine script inside a small badge that turns to a blur on absorbent stock.
- Centering a logo but folding the sheet a different way at every station.
- Sealing a bag of soft tacos tight so they sweat on the ride home.

Taco Wrap Paper Questions
The questions we answer most weeks. Pick a topic, open a row.
What size taco wrap paper holds three street tacos?
12 x 12 folded the long way holds three tacos on 4-inch tortillas. Move to 12 x 15 for three soft tacos on 6-inch tortillas.
Is taco wrap paper folded or rolled around the tacos?
Folded in half into an open-top sleeve. The fold holds the tacos together and shows the toppings; rolling would crush them.
Which stock stops salsa from soaking through taco paper?
Grease-resistant white or kraft. Dry wax lets salsa through and is better kept for chips and dry sides; see the deli paper stocks compared side by side.
Can the scattered badge print on taco paper be done in my brand colors?
Yes. Scattered marks print as 2 or 3 spot colors matched from Pantone numbers, or in full color on white stock.
Will a centered logo show on a folded taco sleeve?
Yes, if the line folds the same way every time. The proof shows where the logo lands on the front of the half-fold.
Does taco wrap paper work for quesadillas and flautas?
Yes. A quesadilla half or a pair of flautas sits in the same 12 x 12 sleeve, and the grease-resistant face handles the cheese.
How long does printed taco wrap paper take from proof to delivery?
Four to six business days to print after you approve, then two to three business days of free tracked delivery to any US address.
Can a taco truck get taco paper delivered to a commissary address?
Yes. Any US address, including a commissary kitchen or a storage unit, is covered by free tracked delivery.
Is taco wrap paper safe to use with hot birria tacos straight from the plancha?
Yes for serving and holding. Grease-resistant stock takes the fat; just do not reheat tacos in the paper in an oven or microwave.
Can taco wrap paper be ordered in black with white ink?
Yes. White ink prints on black stock for a late-night look; oil shows as a sheen on black, so it suits short holds.
What is the minimum order for printed taco wrap paper?
1,000 sheets per print run in one size and stock. Two sizes are two runs.
What happens if the taco paper proof needs changes?
Changes to the proof are free and nothing prints until you approve in writing.
